Drawing representing three young children signed Claude Firmin and dated 1905. It was done in black stone with white chalk highlights. Claude Firmin (1864/1944) was part of the group of Thirteen, founded in 1912 and chaired by Clement Brun, in Avignon. See Internet and Le Benezit , well referenced artist. Considered as a Provençal master of painting. He studied his art with Pierre Grivolas, a great draftsman. In the museums in situ you can find many beautiful works of all these artists. Calvet Museum, Louis Vouland and in the galleries. Firmin's drawings are often subjects taken from life, like this sensitive sketch, well representative of the world of childhood.
Framed by me (gilded wooden rods with passe partout and glass) the sheet is 38cmX25 cm.
