Angélique Martinet (c. 1731–c. 1780), after Johann Eleazar Schenau (1737–1806), *Le Petit Viseur*. An 18th-century French print, executed in etching and burin after a composition by Schenau and engraved by Angélique Martinet. The plate bears the inscriptions “Schenau Pinxit,” “Angel. Martinet Sculp.” as well as the Paris address of the publisher Buldet, on Rue de Gesvres. The scene depicts three richly dressed children appearing at a window, with the young boy in the center holding a cherry between his fingers. Date: circa 1754–1780. Condition: authentic original condition with foxing, stains, marks, and minor paper deterioration visible in the photographs. A few minor marks and signs of wear are also present on the gilded frame. The piece is mounted under glass, with a blue mat and border. The detailed photographs are an integral part of the description. Dimensions: 45.5 × 58 cm. A fine example of an 18th-century French engraving, both decorative and documented in several European museum collections. Careful and insured shipping.
