A student at the École des Beaus-Arts in Rennes, Jacques Jullien painted Breton subjects. Appointed drawing teacher in Lesneven in 1917, he exhibited gouaches and prints from the 1920s onwards in several galleries: Louis Carré in Rennes and Galerie Prouté in Paris.
Gouache on gold ground, mounted on cardboard, small pictorial lift at the foot of the calvary and the dress, signed top right.
