We offer three rare prints of popular Arabic imagery, both naive and didactic, glorifying Islam, executed by anonymous artists whose often very martial subjects echo the conventions of Egyptian reverse glass painting:

1 - Abu Zayd al-Halili defeating the Zirids (a Berber dynasty that had abandoned Shi'ism for Sunnism)
2 - Combat between Ali Ibn Abi Talib and Amr ibn Abd al-Wud (who was killed at the Battle of the Trench near Medina in 627)
3 - The sacred camel of the Prophet Saleh
