Oval pastel depicting an elegant woman from the late Ancien Régime, her hair styled in the Louis XVI fashion and wearing a blue ribbon tied around her neck.
The delicate treatment of the face, the subtlety of the complexions, and the harmony of the tones demonstrate a meticulous execution, characteristic of pastel portraits from the second half of the 18th century.
Signed "E. Poujardin" lower left.

Presented in its original oval giltwood frame, included with the work.
Condition: Very good overall condition. The work displays a beautiful freshness of color. Some minor wear and signs of age, consistent with its age.
