Description

This German ceramic vase from the second half of the 20th century comes from the Uebelacker Keramik factory.
Johann Uebelacker founded a foundry in 1909. He soon diversified into the manufacture of earthenware, terracotta and glazed ceramics.
When he died in the 1950s, his three sons took over the business. The period from the 50s to the 80s marked the golden age of German decorative ceramics.
This vase has all the hallmarks. Classic shape and rich glaze, with colors varying according to the manufacturing site. Almost all the pieces had a two-part number under the base, the model number followed by another indicating the size.
Ours bears the model number 946 followed by 20, indicating that it is 20 cm high.
The base is a dark brown, lightening to an ochre tone that eventually fades to a creamy white mixed with grey.
The glaze is thick and creamy, of the highest quality.
The sometimes difficult identification of the factory has been simplified by the presence of the original label, which our research has revealed to be from 1975.
Without being extremely rare, this vase is a pure product of the interesting period of German post-war production that appeals to many collectors. Don't hesitate to show it off in your home, and (who knows?) it could be the first piece in a budding collection.
