Large antique rectangular serving dish made of Terre de Fer by the Longchamp pottery, “Pâquerettes” polychrome model, very rare, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, circa 1890–1910. Magnificent romantic, bucolic Art Nouveau design featuring daisies, foliage, grasses, and scrollwork in a dark pink transfer print, delicately hand-highlighted with shades of fuchsia pink, mauve, nuanced green, yellow, and brown. The rim is slightly serrated.
39 cm long with handles, 28 cm wide, 4 cm high. In very good overall condition for its age; note small scratches from cutlery and two small, weathered marks in the center, which are unobtrusive. Approximately 1,200 kg.
