Manufacture of GIEN.
6 soup plates in earthenware from the service called "au coq".
Diameter: 25.5cm
Cobalt blue marks from the Gien factory (1930s-60s) and painter's monogram on the reverse.

This rare service is famous because the decoration is not transferred but painted exclusively by the hand of the painters of the factory.
The Japanese motif is very elegant: decoration of a rooster among cherry branches and stylized peonies.

Condition: TBE Additional photos on request

Fine earthenware from Gien is unique thanks to its natural composition and the quality of its creations and shapes. The paste, the molds and the enamels are entirely designed and manufactured at the Faïencerie. All stages of production, from the pile of soil to the plate, are carried out there. A Gien plate requires 26 components and passes through the hands of 30 "master potters", heirs to 200 years of know-how.
