    Very large enamelled ceramic wall dish with plants decoration signed Thiry.
    In very good condition.
    Dimension: 39,5 x 32 cm.
    Originally from Nice, the Thiry family settled in the famous village of potters in Vallauris in 1943.
    After studying at the School of Decorative Arts in Nice, Albert Thiry continued his training as a trainee in various pottery workshops.
    In Vallauris in 1956, he joined Claire and René Batigne, who ran the Tapis Vert workshop, as a decorator and worked with Marcel Vertès (1895-1961) and Anton Prinner (1902-1983).
    With his wife Pyot Gavaudan in 1961, they created their own workshop and developed a technique of engraving and decoration in chamotte clay.
    From 1966 to 1974, Albert Thiry participated in the Vallauris biennials, and was awarded the diploma of honor in 1971
