Large basin or centerpiece in barbotine, late 19th century, with rich decoration of foliage, volutes, piastre falls, birds in flight, masks and cartouches, in shades of brown and cream highlighted with blue.
Manufactured by the Gerbing & Stephan factory, located in Bodenbach, on the banks of the Elbe, then in Austro-Hungarian territory (today Podmokly in the Czech Republic); the mark in relief below our basin depicts a suspension bridge, most likely the one that, spanning the Elbe, must have been visible from the workshops.

Superb condition, no accidents, a small lack of enamel at the tip of the nose of one of the cherubs.
