Superb large Delft earthenware dish with blue and white decoration, dated September 21, 1947, commemorating the Netherlands vs. Switzerland soccer match.

Dated September 21, 1947, it celebrates the international match between the Netherlands and Switzerland, whose 2-1 victory for the Dutch marked one of the first sporting events of the post-war era.
In the center, the coat of arms of the Dutch Football Association, crowned and surrounded by heraldic lions, is set against a typical Delft floral design, hand-painted in a deep blue.
The reverse bears an original handwritten inscription and a workshop signature, attesting to a commemorative production.
A small detail: the presence of its antique hanging system makes this a piece designed from the outset to be displayed, like a wall trophy.
