Gay Freres torque necklace 18 karat gold and silver torque. Semi-articulated torque necklace, composed of two alternating twisted elements of gold and organic material. The two elements meet in the center, held by a ring. The necklace ends with a supple round link chain. Gay Frères necklace, circa 1960-1970.

Maison Gay Frères was established in 1835 by Jean-Pierre Gay and Gaspard Tissot, starting with a chain-making workshop in Geneva.
