This pair of earrings, in solid silver, decorated with colored enamels and enhanced with gold, come from Bresse. These ear studs are fitted with a fastening system which is the ancestor of the alpa system which bears the words: “PROMIS-MECAN-BREVETE” appeared in the 1920s. Two hallmarks appear on the back of these jewels, one in the shape of diamond and the other a crab silver control hallmark at 800/1000.
Bressan enamels are made exclusively in Bourg en Bresse, they are composed of enamel and fine gold particles, they are set on a gilded metal, silver or gold setting.
