An exquisite, museum-quality piece of early 18th-century jewelry, crafted around 1730. This magnificent pendant brooch is a characteristic example of the sophisticated evening jewelry of the Georgian era in Great Britain. In 18th-century British high society, these opulent pieces were designed to be worn both as a statement pendant on a chain and as a magnificent brooch on fine evening attire.

The design features a three-part, movable girandole motif (also known as a chandelier design) with intricate bow and floral elements. The brooch is set with approximately 3.00 carats of old-cut diamonds. To perfectly showcase the white fire of the stones in the flickering candlelight of the period, the diamonds on the front are set in fine silver. The reverse and the sturdy brooch pin are crafted in gold to protect delicate silk clothing from abrasion. The old-cut diamonds lend the piece a deep, distinctive brilliance that unfolds a magical aura in the evening light.

A rare collector's item of high historical value, whose authenticity is fully documented: The pendant brooch was examined and certified by the renowned traditional jeweler Paul Koppenwallner in Salzburg on August 8, 1990. British jewelry from this early period in this exceptionally good condition is hardly ever found on the market anymore.
