This lovely cross is typical of Austro-Hungarian jewelry from the second half of the 19th century. Made of vermeil, it is adorned with small cabochons of turquoise and enameled fleurette, while the reverse is openwork and engraved with geometric motifs. We have acquired it with a small black velvet ribbon, which is probably original and slides through two small loops on the back of the bezel. This kind of pectoral cross can also be worn as a choker. The enamel on the flowers has worn over time, which seems quite normal.
Height 8 cm, width 4.5 cm.
