A brief history of the origins of TOI et MOI, sentimental jewelry, at the end of the 18th century... A modest ring was given to Joséphine in 1796, shortly before their civil wedding, by the young Napoleon Bonaparte, then a penniless general-in-chief of the Army of the Interior. "This elegantly simple piece of jewelry features two pear-shaped stones, a diamond and a blue sapphire, placed side by side, indicating that the arrangement of the stones symbolizes the meeting of two lovers. This led to the creation of the "you and me" piece, which remains a jewelry staple today.
