Description

With their floral-adorned sockets, ram’s heads, and garlands of flowers, these pieces reflect the enduring influence of Marie-Antoinette’s taste on French decorative arts from the late 18th century. Despite the Revolution, this aesthetic persisted, continuing into the early Empire period.

These candlesticks are distinguished by the warm, rich patina inherent to copper—a metal frequently used at the time and subsequently silver-plated to add a touch of refinement. Today, collectors prize the delicate, rosy-hued patina of these rare, lesser-known objects. This pair is in good condition.
