Large round ceiling light in bubble-blown glass (Verre pulegoso), circa 1970. Its thick, bubble-textured glass dome diffuses a soft, even light. It is fitted with nine E14 lampholders.
This luminaire can also be used as a large wall light. It has several anchoring points, and side screws hold the Murano glass dome in place.
Nine E14 silver LED bulbs included.
Very good condition, no signs of wear.
Dimensions: diameter 50 cm × height 14 cm.

A pulegoso glass ceiling light in the vein of the 1970s
This ceiling light is in keeping with the research into shapes and materials carried out in Europe in the 1960s and 1970s around textured glass and light diffusion. Its glass, characterized by the presence of numerous air bubbles of varying sizes - known as pulegoso - fragments light and produces a dense, vibrant visual effect, particularly sought-after in the modernist interiors of the period.
The term pulegoso, derived from the Italian pulega ("bubble"), refers to glass obtained by introducing substances that generate gaseous inclusions into the mass. This high concentration of bubbles makes the material partially opaque and gives it an irregular texture, both decorative and functional in diffusing light. This technique, developed in the 1920s on the island of Murano by Napoleone Martinuzzi, was used in particular by Venini.
The quality of the glass, its thickness and the regularity of its texture bear witness to a mastery of craftsmanship characteristic of certain Italian and German productions of the period. It was common practice for Central European publishers to source glass from Italian workshops.
By virtue of its texture and construction, this model may be associated with the products of Doria Leuchten, which was active in Germany in the 1960s-1970s, although this attribution cannot be formally confirmed.
