Rare A5 series table lamp designed by Alain Richard and produced by Disderot in the 1950s-60s.
This iconic example of French modernist design features a cylindrical red lacquered metal shade mounted on a chromed stem with a sliding adjustment system and a tightening knob. The adjustable spotlight has ventilation perforations characteristic of Alain Richard's early designs for Disderot.

Chromed and lacquered metal structure. Weighted circular base in black lacquered cast iron.

Good overall condition with signs of wear consistent with age. Functional wiring.
