They are delicately painted with slip of anemones in soft, poetic colors on a nuanced green background. These impressionist ceramics were produced in the last quarter of the 19th century by a few prestigious manufacturers, the Montigny sur Loing factory is one of them. The stripped-down ornamentation, as well as the rich bronze mount, illustrate the taste for Japonism in this second half of the 19th century and already announces Art Nouveau.
These very beautiful lamps come from the first ceramic factory in Montigny sur Loing (1872-1885) created by Eugène Schoppin. They are both marked on the back of the ceramic with the initials MsL painted for Montigny sur Loing and 420 ES MsL in hollow, ES for Eugène Schoppin, the number 420 corresponds to the shape, the painted B corresponds to the painter that we have not identified and the numbers 501 and 502 are the order number of each of the two pieces.
These lamps are electrified, we present them with a basic lampshade in order to let the customer choose the colors and the shape, the latter do not always justify the shipping costs.
They measure with the lampshade 71 cm and without the lampshade 42 cm.
