Inspired by the same forms used for the Perlo pendant lights,
Ceramicist Amandine Gorrino, originally from Marseille, created these Perlito table lamps by stacking handcrafted ceramic pieces covered with a deep green glaze.
Now a craftswoman, Amandine Gorrino has set up her workshop in Marseille, her hometown, to finally imagine, design, and create her own pieces in a world that combines raw materials with unique pigments and glaze blends. She uses stoneware and clay of varying shades and textures, combined with high-temperature glazes. Amandine enjoys working with volume, highlighting her pieces by sculpting, scraping, stripping, gluing, and incorporating elements while playing with the effects of the materials.
Inspired by the architecture and nature of her surroundings, her intuition guides her movements to create unique pieces sculpted from the material. Her practice is intuitive and experimental, giving rise to "object-works," each with its own unique identity, linked to her personal history and inspirations. She seeks to blend aesthetics and functionality to bring beauty and character to interior spaces.
Part of her work is also dedicated to artistic research, her approach being to create under constraints, to further explore the symbols and memories of our childhood and our roots.
