Exceptional pair of Louis XVI style sconces in gilt bronze and blue patina. In the shape of an antique tapered amphora, they are adorned with five bronze arms of light underlined by twisted flutes, with acanthus leaves and bunches of fruit. The shaft decorated with three mascarons of women with aigrettes and garlands of fruit ends with a fall of foliage, trimmings and oak leaves with acorns. The sconces are held by gilded bronze ribbon bows. They are mounted on molded wooden plates. End of the 19th century.
These arms of light are attributed to Henry Dasson or Alfred Beurdeley, after a model by Pierre-Philippe Thomire (1751-1843).
