Pair of Louis XVI wall sconces with two lights. Circa 1770.
The console-shaped stem is crowned with a cartouche adorned with acanthus leaves.
The body of the urn is fluted and decorated with a hanging garland.
At the base, the stem is decorated with a stylized flower bud.
The volute-shaped arms are decorated with stylized acanthus leaves.
The architectural details derived from classical models are remarkable.

The sconces are made in the style of Jean-Charles Delafosse (1734-1791). His style is characterized by richly decorated classical architectural forms inspired by antiquity.
