    Description :
    Chiseled bronze, natural patina.

This sign is molded in a curved panel with notched corners on which are arranged as a trophy and carried by a knotted ribbon the accessories necessary for the work of painters.
The color merchants did not only sell colors but everything that participated in their application, from the preparatory drawing to the painting itself.
So we see a palette, a compass, brushes, parchment and even a lead pencil as well as the support stick.
The laurel branches remind us that painting is an art.
The sign plate is arched, indicating that it was seized at an angle, allowing it to be seen from two different streets if the store was also at an angle.
The bas-relief work is deep with the details of the objects presented slightly forced so that the sign is legible and recognizable from a distance.
The Carnavalet museum has a sign (in wood) of the same profession with the same attributes but larger.

    Condition :
Excellent condition, the four fixing holes have been hidden by bronze rosettes.
The sign is presented on a gilded bronze base with a rosette that will be attached.
