This Art Nouveau stained-glass window, depicting ginkgo biloba leaves, was hung above a door or window decorated with a larger stained-glass window. It was likely created by Jacques Gruber (unsigned but part of a batch signed by Gruber), one of the greatest master glassmakers of the early 20th century.
Jacques Gruber (1870-1936) was one of the founders of the Nancy School. He established the reputation of French stained-glass, notably by daringly layering acid-etched glass, thus giving depth and clarity to the motifs.

Colored cathedral glass with cabochons and highlights of grisaille paint. Lead-bonded. Original wooden frame.
