    Attic door - Toraja, Sulawesi


    Beautiful Toraja granary door, carved in high relief with a buffalo surmounted by a figure. The buffalo augurs wealth and symbolizes good harvests. The use of this object led its owner to coat it with a black pigment to protect it from the elements.
    Brought back to Belgium in the mid-80s.
