Pistol produced by the Imperial Manufacture of Tull in 1854 during the Second Empire.

This pistol was not converted from a flintlock pistol; it was built directly using percussion.
These newly constructed pistols can be distinguished from those converted from flintlocks by the absence of a pan plug, their one-piece cast steel barrel, and the reinforcement of the rear branch of the trigger guard.
The mechanism is functional; the spring is strong, and both notches are crisp.

The barrel and lock plate show traces of oxidation, but all markings are clearly legible. This pistol notably features a fine wood marking on the side of the lock plate. The rifling in the barrel extends to the muzzle and has a uniform surface finish.
