19th Century American Cavalry Saber
Three-pronged brass hilt, one of which needs to be re-soldered.

Wooden grip with twisted brass filigree.
Curved blade with hollow sides
This saber model is directly inspired by the French light cavalry saber, Model 1822. This saber model was the most widely used in the American cavalry during the Civil War from 1861 to 1865, even more so than the Model 1860 saber. Produced in 1858, this example was therefore used during this conflict.
