Japanese sword, katana with itomaki-no-tachi mount
Japan Muromachi era (1336-1573) 15th century for the blade.
Steel, wood, lacquer, brass, fibers
Length of cutting edge (Nagasa): 70.3 cm
Nakago: 15.3 cm - Curvature, (Sori): 3.5 cm

Curved shinogi zukuri blade; regular gunome hamon. One groove (bo-hi) on each side and along the entire length.
Nakago kata yamagata (asymmetrical).
Copper-alloy Higo-habaki
Itomaki-no-tachi wooden scabbard (saya), brown lacquered and gilded; embellished with leafy scrolls and Takanoha mòn (circled falcon feathers). All ormolu and chased bronze fittings. Kuri gata cherry blossoms with rings. Koi Guchi, in engraved gilt bronze.
Sagéo in bi-color braided cotton.
Wooden Tsuka, covered in stingray and woven with black cotton.
Fushi kashira in gilt bronze, chased and en suite.
Large gilded bronze dragon menuki en suite.
Tsuba Inome ni aoi gata, in chased bronze.

Very good condition. Small crack in the lower part of the saya (not serious).
