Mandau sword handle
Mandau sword hilt in deer antler with blond patina, exceptional for its chiseled decoration on either side of a male figure on one side and a female figure on the other, with a highly figurative representation inserted into a scroll decoration classic of the Dayak.
Two strands of animal silk and hair decorate the handle, giving the object an animal form, reminiscent of a warthog.
The base of the handle is covered with aesthetically pleasing basketwork.
Beautiful antique patina.
