Gilded brass mounting.
Long-tailed cap with laurel and oak leaf borders.
Joining bow with flower-engraved ring.
Shell chased with four flags, laurel and oak branches.
Short quillon decorated with a star.
Brown horn spindle.
Slightly curved blade with single-edged edge and counter-edge, signed "A Chassepot Manfeur à Châtellerault"; control mark.
Leather tie.
Sheet steel scabbard with one ring.
