Important mirror in gilded wood and mercury glass, Empire style work from the Charles X period. Rich decoration of palmettes, crowns of flowers with stars in the center. Period 1820.
Our large mirror is characterized by the richness of its decoration and its imposing dimensions (the frame is 20cm thick). Beautiful gilding with gold leaf, the mercury ice is sparkling over the entire surface and not just at the bottom. (The mirror is a real fireworks display when you place candles in front of it).
It is truly a spectacular model, worthy of an imperial or royal palace, a size and quality as seen on the fingers of a hand on a lifetime scale.
Excellent condition, original gold leaf gilding, as well as all moldings without repair. Beautiful mercury ice cream, on its original parquet floor on the back.
