    Original oil on (original) canvas, signed lower left.
    Pretty countryside landscape consisting of a stream lined with trees and their foliage as well as a white barrier on the right and a house in the background. Post-impressionist touch of the artist highlighted by a line whose thickness varies according to the need. The precision of details and the beautiful work of light and shadows make this work extremely pleasant to look at, bringing us an obvious serenity.  Lovely painting.

    ABOUT THE ARTIST
    After scientific studies, Jacques DENIER turns to painting and enters the Academy of La Grande Chaumière as a pupil of Lucien SIMON and René MÉNARD.
    He is known mainly for his paintings of the south-west of Algeria.
    He exhibited in Paris at the Salon des Tuileries of which he was a founder member, at the Salon des Artistes Indépendants (1927-1929) and the Salon d'Automne of which he became a member in 1921. He also was a member of the Société Nationale des Beaux-arts.
    He painted local scenes, landscapes of all kinds and Orientalism and was also a designer and colorist.
    He was awarded the "Blumenthal" Prize, the 1923 "Abd-el-Tif" Prize and the 1929 "Dru" Prize.
    Jacques DENIER died on May 19th, 1983 in Arzon (Morbihan, France).
