    In the foreground, atop a hill, we see a pastoral scene made so delicate by its small size; two washerwomen, basket in hand, converse while a child at their side looks back at a farmer, languishing against a rock and watching over two of his cattle. This scene is set in a bucolic setting, thanks to a composition combining vegetation, gentle mountainous relief, architectural elements with the small village perched on the hillock, and a stretch of water whose flat calm reinforces the sensation of serenity.

    - The drawing is distinguished by a great finesse of execution, the treatment is so delicate that one can perceive, for example, each leaf, the vegetation is present in number but comes out airy, light.
