This oil on cardboard by Stanislaw Zukowski depicts a stream meandering through undergrowth, perhaps at dusk.
Stanislaw Joukowski (1873-1944) was a painter of Polish and Belarusian origin. In the early 20th century, Joukowski became one of Russia's most renowned Impressionist landscape painters. He took part in the "Mir iskousstva" exhibitions.
The work is in a superb state of preservation, having recently been cleaned. We would like to point out a small accident on the frame for the more fussy.
