A student of Jean-Paul Laurens and Pharaon de Winter, he painted portraits until 1920, then devoted himself to seascapes and landscapes. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1903, the year he presented a portrait of a man, and in 1907 won a silver medal with the painting "After the Game" (Cambrai Museum of Fine Arts). In 1909, he exhibited his painting Their Son there; in 1912, Prayer to Our Lady of the Waves (Poirson Prize); in 1913, Man with a Dog, a portrait of the painter Hubert; and in 1920, True Story (Petit-Palais, gold medal). He also participated in numerous art galleries, including annually at the Galerie Montsallut in Lille, and exhibited in Roubaix, Douai, Mulhouse, and Nantes, among others.
Out of competition at the Salon des Artistes Français, he specialized in landscapes with snow effects, presenting his work at the 1926 Salon: Environs de Dijon; in 1927, Port de Concarneau; in 1928, White Tuna Boats and The Old Bridge; and in 1929, Boats at Rest and Church of Ramoulu.
