Serge Belloni (1925-2005) - Paris Le Belvedere oil on wood circa 1990

    Description:

Serge Belloni, nicknamed "The Painter of Paris," dedicated his artistic life to capturing the timeless essence of Paris and Venice. Every day, in all weather, he immortalized the changing faces of the City of Light and the City of Doges.

This beautiful painting transports us to Paris, with this Belvedere view. Belloni loved spending autumn and early winter in Paris, where the bare trees revealed the architecture and authentic soul of the city. And the rest of the year in Venice to capture its unique light.

Our painting is to be compared with a painting by Serge Belloni in the Musée Carnavalet: Les escaliers de la rue Villin et le clocher de l'église Saint-Joseph des Nations, circa 1960, acquired by the museum in 1962. Inventory no. P 1991.
