Over to the left a steamer masted ship sailing along, further back view of a lighthouse on Admirality pier, to the far left the impressive shoreline view of the white cliffs of Dover which shows green grass vegetation on top of the cliff. Bottom left in the sea a wooden barrel is floating, with seagulls flying low.

    • Biography of the artist William Broome a known 19th Century Victorian British marine specialist artist, he was born in the year 1838. Broome's works have been exhibited & sold at auctions around the world, he died in 1892. He was based in Ramsgate Kent and he had a thorough knowledge of the nautical tides & sea marine sailing. He painted from real life experiences & he loved to paint his marine subject matter in his realism style.
    • Broome excels in this work which is in our opinion one of his very fine works. In this particular marine work of art, Broome created such an impressive blend of sea hue colours, especially the way he manipulated his brush strokes to show a great perspective of the sea with his use of green & blue hues.
