A student of Magaud and Rave at the Beaux-Arts in MarseCOSTE, Victorille, then Barry, Victor Coste exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1883 to 1896. He presented landscapes and, above all, seascapes, characterized by a dense, greasy paste, with a beautiful chromatic intensity, in a very limited range of tones, playing more on values.
Coste took part in the Colonial Exhibition in Marseille in 1906, decorating the main staircase of the Chamber of Commerce. He also painted orientalist landscapes inspired by the Maghreb.
    The frame is slightly missing.
