Charles Roussel (1861-1936)
Charles studied under Cabanel, Weerts, and Tattegrain at the Lille Academy of Fine Arts. He lived and worked in Berck. He exhibited in Paris at the Salons des Artistes Français, of which he was a member from 1887, and at the Salon des Tuileries. He also exhibited in Saint Petersburg in 1903, at the Universal Exhibition of Saint Louis in 1904, and in Buenos Aires in 1909.
He also worked with Gauguin at Pont-Aven.
Roussel is now included in the museum collections of Nice and Tourcoing.
