This charming little oil on panel depicts an ordinary scene of provincial life in the 19th century. A carriage drawn by a horse leaves a small town over a bridge from which we can see the church bell tower. A small dog is clearly opposed to this departure but everyone seems to be indifferent. With this beautiful weather it is more pleasant to stroll, to say a few words to a young girl or to talk to a neighbor! This oil on panel in very good condition is signed (illegible signature) lower right.
