French School from the end of the 18th century, large oil on canvas depicting a mythological bacchanal scene. Seated in a landscape, a bacchante draws bunches of grapes from her cornucopia that she gives to young Bacchus putti so that they can draw wine and serve it to the guests. The large-format painting is presented in a superb and monumental Louis XVI style frame, a rich model with egg stripes gilded with gold leaf.
Beautiful painting, of a spectacular format, ideal for a dining room, a wine chateau or wine lovers. The 19th century frame brought to the dimensions of the painting by our gilder with great talent is in itself worthy of a museum (nearly 15cm thick).
Very good general condition, painting cleaned by our restorer, as well as the frame gilded with gold leaf.
