The painter invites us to admire the beauty of St. Mark's Square and its unique architecture. Stefano Novo enrolled at the Venice Academy of Fine Arts, where he studied under Pompeo Molmenti. He began his studies by working in various churches in the Venetian region and Padua, creating numerous frescoes. Easel painting later took over; he favored lively, colorful street scenes.

He rose to prominence at the Turin Exposition of 1884, then participated in other exhibitions in Florence, Bologna, Milan, Palermo, and Venice, where he was present at the National Exhibition of 1887.

His fame spread to the United States and England, where he exhibited in Chicago, London, and Glasgow.
