"The antique store". Oil on cardboard. Henry d´Estienne (1872-1949). French painter, portrait painter, pastellist and engraver, born in Aude. A pupil of Jérôme at the Ecole des Beaux-arts in Paris, he became a
recognized portrait painter. He also paints landscapes of the East and the West, linking Brittany and the Maghreb.
The Breton Museum of Faouët devoted an exhibition to him in 2013 and published a catalog. The Narbonne Museum gave its name to one of its orientalist painting rooms.
