Jean-Jacques Ceccarelli (1948-2017)
A self-taught visual artist from Marseilles, recognized for his singular body of work combining painting, drawing, collage, ceramics and the creation of artists' books. His visual universe, populated by hybrid figures and fantastical creatures, fuses the rational and the imaginary. Between 1990 and 2010, he exhibited regularly at Galerie Jeanne Bucher Jaeger, where his watercolors and collages expressed a poetry of the everyday, imbued with tenderness. Ceccarelli was also actively involved in the mail art movement and the creation of artists' books. He died in Marseille in 2017.
