She has that dreamy, slightly sad air, as if lost in thought, of the portraits we have seen painted by this artist.
A painter of light and a talented colorist, the faces Quing portrays are always highly expressive, stripping away the soul of his subject, always a little pensive and melancholy, to deliver it to us in all its simplicity.
We have very little information on this painter, but according to the brochure we were given when we bought the painting, Quing was born in Irkutsk of a Russian mother. He studied at the Novosibirsk School of Fine Arts before travelling extensively, creating luminous portraits full of sensitivity and warmth. He exhibited in France from 1958 to 1959, and some of the works we have seen bear the label "Confrontation" on their reverse side: "Confrontation" Ve Salon de Peinture Moderne, Ambierle, Loire.
Oil on canvas mounted on isorel panel, size: 48 cm x 58.5 cm.
The modern frame imitates birch bark, evoking the Taiga, 72.5 cm x 62 cm.
