    Large oil on canvas portrait of a beautiful young woman from the Empire period wearing a gilded taffeta dress, seated on a bench with palmette arms, in a plush interior decorated with a laurel wreath tapestry, signed Georges Meyer*, in a large 19th century gilded stuccoed wood frame with palmette friezes.
    The painting is in good condition and is very decorative due to its large size. Signed lower left. The frame is also in good condition and of very fine quality.
    Please note: a few slight accidents and missing gilding on the frame, slight wear and minor restoration (to the right of the woman's face) on the canvas, see photos.
    * Georges Meyer :
    painter born in Sèvres in the 19th century (Ec fr). He was exhibited at the Salon des Artistes français and received an honorable mention in 1895 (Cf Bénézit).
