Lucien-Philippe Moretti
A French painter born in Suresnes in 1922 and deceased in Étretat in 2000, Lucien-Philippe Moretti studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris in the 1940s. He became an associate member of the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts in 1947. He lived for several years in Montmartre before leaving the Butte in 1963.
Moretti immortalizes the youth of the 1950s and the hippies of the 1960s in a lively and nostalgic fresco. His works depict a wild party, a carnival populated by clowns, pierrots, girls in short skirts, and boys with long hair. Through his paintings, he brings to life a mythical, Edenic era, in a highly symbolist style that has become his trademark.
His talent led him to exhibit in the greatest Parisian galleries, notably at the Roussard Gallery, and then internationally since the 1960s: New York, Miami, Montreal, Tokyo, and more.
