Luis Quintanilla, a Spanish painter who arrived in 1912 at the bareau-lavoir in Montmartre, Paris, then rubbed shoulders with painters such as Juan Gris, Modigliani, Chagall...In 1920 he became friend in Montaparnasse with Ernest Hemingway, and with the writer John Dos Passos. Subsequently, he emigrated to the United States for around fifteen years and exhibited there before returning to France. He will end his days in Spain where he returns after the death of Franco.
