A beautiful and large self-portrait by the Toulon-born painter and Provençal poet José Mange, depicting himself writing in his home.

From 1908 to 1914, he lived in Toulon as an art photographer.

In addition to being a painter, José Mange was a poet. He was a member of the Félibrige movement and secretary of the Parisian Félibrige group since 1890.
